Over the years, 4CFF has been providing classes for Whatcom County middle school, high school, and university students, as well as the general public of all ages that include fly fishing, fly tying, and casting instructions.
It is a yearly tradition that 4CFF volunteers participate in BP's Children's Christmas Celebration (BP-British Petroleum, Cherry Point Refinery) by hosting a booth where as many as twenty members tie flies individually designed by the children that are inserted into a glass Christmas ornament, then placed with care into a gift box.
In the past, members of 4CFF have been invited to host a fly-tying table at Yeager's Sporting Goods, supporting local scouting programs and other youth programs to teach fly-tying, in which scouts take the opportunity to earn a fly-tying merit badge, as seen in the image above.
