Summer Session: Distance Casting

Tuesdays: 6:00-8:00 PM

August 11, 18, 25, and September 1

Sundays: 8:00-10:00 AM

August 9, 16, 23, and 30

Arrive 15 minutes early to rig your rod and warm up your casting muscles. 

Meet At: 

Cornwall Memorial Park

Enter at the SOUTH entrance on Meridian Street

Meet in the field by the "pickleball courts"

Clinic Topics:

Each session begins with group instruction of casting principles and continues with:

 1.  Skills needed for an upcoming outing.

2.  Drills for independent practice and skill development.

3.  Analysis of casting faults and how to fix them.

4.  Self-identified casting goals.

5.  Guidance on skills for success on the Fly Casting Skills Development Program and run-throughs.

Sessions are provided in groups, pairs, and one-on-one instruction.

Attendance:
Anglers of all types and skill levels are welcome, whether you’re a community member or a club member.

 Free for 4CFF members and those who are in the membership program

•  Non-members: $20.00 per session.
• Sessions are limited to 8 casters per session.
• A waiting list is available. Register to attend.

What to Bring:

• 5–7 weight rod & reel with a floating line (most participants find success using a line with a 35' head or longer)

7.5' - 9' tapered leader, 0X or 1X 

• Eye protection (glasses) — required

• A free yarn fly will be provided
• If you are new to fly fishing and do not own a rod, let us know, and we will make one available
