A time-honored 4CFF tradition, the Annual August Potluck Picnic, will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, where the beloved Cooper Cooker will be in operation, preparing the best pork ribs ever.
This year we are grateful to John Leighton who has graciously volunteered to host the picnic on their property, 583 Bridle Drive, Sedro Wolley, 98284.
As usual, this picnic is no-cost to members and those in the membership candidate program as it is included in your dues. Guests are welcome, however a small charge of five dollars ($5) helps cover the cost of the main dish.
The event begins at 3:30 with the opening of the Casting opportunities. A skills course will be set out and you can request casting tips from Frank or Marion who are working towards certification. Have fun challenging your casting skills and casts for accuracy and distance in various situations. The club’s 5wt rods will be rigged and ready. Dinner begins sometime between 5:30-6:00, or when the main dish is ready.
What to bring:
- A side dish with a serving utensil
- Bring your own beverage for yourself and/or to share
- A chair for each attendee

For example, if you are registering for yourself (a member) and your spouse (not a member) and the two of you are bringing a salad – you should pick one ‘Member Attending + Salad’ ticket, and one ‘Guest Attending + Salad’ ticket. This will allow us to track attendance, give us a general idea of how much money to collect, and help provide a balance of side dishes. As with all of our meetings, getting an accurate count helps us plan for the right amount of food, and in this case, allows Frank and Bob to do the shopping and cooking in a timely manner.
